Artist In Action – Lev Yilmaz

Lev Yilmaz is best known for his YouTube series “Tales of Mere Existence”.
His unapologetic pessimism and candidness gives a surprising amount of depth to his work.  Equally as surprising -and infinitely more unsettling- is how oddly relatable his comics and videos are.
You can check out more of his stuff at: IngredientX.com

Artist In Action – Alex Noriega

Alex Noriega’s blog (Stuff No One Told Me) offers a series of comics depicting…well…stuff no one told him about life.  The wisdom he shares is a little unconventional, as is his delivery, but that’s what makes him so awesome!

A Taste of Culture

There was once a time when cakes came in simple shapes, with simple designs.  When the baker’s only concern was to make something delicious.  Now people expect more from their desserts -which has led to a lot of food for thought in the form of cake artistry.

Amongst the most cultured of these offerings are the artwork inspired cakes.

Cake.  Art.  What’s not to like?

Wear This to That

Do have a hard time coming up with outfits? Well, this blog entry isn’t going to be any help at all!

But at least you can take solace in the fact that these animals have found the perfect things to wear to their respective events.  Thanks to advice from Wear This To That.

Hey orca,
wear this Givenchy shark sweatshirt,
to that clam bake.

orca

Hey sassy lion,
wear this Christopher Kane rainbow dress,
to that baptism. sassy lion

Hey sad turkey,
wear this  rag and bone Dagger sweater,
to that vegan potluck. sad turkey

Yup.  Those are the actual captions Wear This To That put on their illustrations.  The site is so hipster, it hurts.  Which is exactly why we like it.

Enjoy!

Artist In Action | Conrad Roset

The archaic meaning of “inspire” is “to draw breath”.  Perhaps the reason why it’s fascinating to watch artists in action is because seeing their process of creation creates something in you.  Your mind becomes pregnant with thought and eventually gives birth to new perceptions -which come to life through your own creations.  In that way, art is alive.  It is conceived by inspiration and becomes an inspiration in itself -in the same way that people are conceived by the life of another and are likewise needed to generate more of the same life forms.

Conrad Roset

Conrad Roset is an artist from Barcelona, Spain.  He finds inspiration in the female form.  This is him drawing breath to one of his muses -making them come to life with bursts of watercolor.
